November 2, 2013 Watervliet Varsity Playoff Game Recap
The Hartford Indians accomplished plenty of goals during the 2013 season. The Indians won six games and qualified for the playoffs for the 19th time in school history, making it eight times in nine years they were going to the postseason. They upset rival Decatur on Decatur’s own turf, keeping their season alive. One goal left unaccomplished was defeating another rival, Watervliet, which had defeated the Indians, 41-17, in week five of the regular season.

Centreville Varsity Game Recap
After starting the season with three straight victories and then losing three straight games after that, the Hartford Indians may have looked deflated on the outside, but on the inside, the fire still burned. After a huge victory over rival Decatur and then last week at Marcellus, the Indians gave themselves an opportunity at a season long goal — making the playoffs for the 19th time in school history and for the eighth time in nine years.

After scoring the biggest victory of the season “on the road” last week against Decatur, the Hartford Indian Varsity football team went into Friday nights game at Marcellus looking to not lapse in judgment or discipline; to keep its focus forward and not to look back. After all, in sports, it is easy after a big victory like Decatur was for Hartford for a team to dwell on that win and not concentrate on the next opponent.

Decatur Varsity Game Recap
The Hartford Indian Varsity football team has seen its share of ups and downs this season. They scored three wins to start the season. And just as quickly as the Indians started 3-0, their season was on the brink. Three losses later, the Indians sat at 3-3 entering Friday nights contest with Decatur knowing all too well if they did not win Friday night, the season would likely be over in two weeks time.

The Junior Varsity Indian football team hit the road for the second straight week on Thursday night, when they traveled to Decatur to take on their greatest rival, the Decatur Raiders. The Indians, coming off a big victory over Lawton last week to clinch a winning season, were looking to make it six wins in this turnaround 2013 season and a victory over their greatest rivals would be icing on the cake.

The Hartford Indian Varsity football team started out the 2013 season with three convincing victories over Martin, Gobles and Fennville. Since then, the Indians had scored just 31 points in two losses at Saugatuck and rival Watervliet. On Friday night, Hartford looked to get on the winning track once again, hosting Lawton on Hartford’s biggest night of the season, Homecoming.

Lawton Junior Varsity Game Recap
The Junior Varsity Indian football team returned to the road after two straight home games versus Saugatuck and Watervliet on Thursday night, when they traveled to Lawton to take on the Blue Devils, who have given the Junior Varsity Indians trouble over the past several seasons. After a rough game against Watervliet in the previous week, which saw the Indians lose their first game of the season, they looked to rebound with a major stepping stone victory over a top calibier Southwestern Athletic Conference South Division team.

Watervliet Varsity Game Recap
The Hartford Indian Varsity football entered conference play on Friday night, traveling to Watervliet, looking for their fourth win of the season, first win of the conference divisional season and first win in three years over the rival Panthers. The Panthers, coming in 4-0, had been playing solid football all year coming into the game and Hartford knew it would have to play the perfect game to be in contention.

The Junior Varsity Indian football team hosted their second consecutive home game, third home game of the season and the first Southwestern Athletic Conference South Division game of the season last Thursday night, as they hosted the Watervliet Panthers in a rivalry game that featured two teams that came into the game undefeated on the season.

Saugatuck Varsity Game Recap
The Hartford Indian Varsity football team went into play on Friday night in Saugatuck trying to make it a clean sweep of the Southwestern Athletic Conference North Division once again this year. They went in knowing they would be facing their toughest competition to date in Saugatuck, whom at 2-1, was coming off a tough loss at Decatur, where they let a halftime lead slip away.

August 29, 2013: The 2013 season opened with the Indians hosting the Martin Clippers in a non-divisional Southwestern Athletic Conference game. The Clippers came into the game with a 46 game losing streak — and the Indians made sure they left with number 47. Behind 378 yards of total offense, including 368 yards of rushing, the Indians scored double digits in each quarter in a 53-6 win.
August 24, 2001: The 2001 season opened with the Indians facing their fiercest non-conference rival, the Decatur Raiders. In a competitive game played with many momentum swings, it came down to a two-point conversion. In the end, 140 yards passing from Brad Manning and 110 yards rushing from Aaron Blaylock was enough for Hartford to pull out a 28-26 overtime win.
