Sometimes when they say you must hit
bottom to climb back up, it really
comes in handy.
For the Indians Junior Varsity Football team, that will be the
case, as only three players return
to the team from 2010, as all other
players on the team have moved up to
the Varsity level or are not playing
football this season.
The team is very young this season, as 14 of the 18 players on the
squad are freshman in their first
season of high school football.
Four sophomores make up the team, three of which return from 2010.
They are tackle and defensive end
Sebastian Chavez, offensive and
defensive tackle Adrian Saldana and
wide receiver and corner back Aaron
Little. The final sophomore on the
team is first-year player Alex
Hamilton, who plays guard and
defensive end.
The remaining 14 players are first time Junior Varsity players,
coming up from the Middle School.
They are quarterbacks and outside
linebackers Calvin Williamson and
Nick Goodson, wide receiver and
outside linebacker Michael Boze,
running back and middle linebacker
Andy Kucharski, wide receiver and
corner back Chance Smith, running
back and safety Miguel Melogoza,
running back and middle linebacker
Reyes Lopez, guard and defensive end
Logan Mireles, center and defensive
end Bert Saldana, guard and
defensive end Angel Esqivel,
offensive and defensive tackle Matt
Hallgren, wide receiver and corner
back Elijha Truelove, tight end and
outside linebacker Brad Bisnett and
wide receiver and safety Adrian
Gonzales.
The Indians are coached by Steve Galvan, now in his second season
as the head coach. He will be
assisted by Brad Manning and Brant
Koshar, who graduated last spring
and was a two-year Varsity starter.
The Indians kick off the 2011 season this Thursday, August 25th,
when they travel to Gobles to take
on the Tigers. Good Luck to the 2011
Hartford Indian Junior Varsity
Football team! |
