GAME NOTES
This is going to be the final game of the season for both teams this Friday, but it is a big rivalry game for both. Hartford currently holds a 27-9-1 lead in the head to head with their rivals from the east. That record includes a current twelve game winning streak against the Tigers, including last years 56-0 dismantling of the Tigers in week eight.

PREVIOUS GAME REVIEW
Week eight saw both teams fall to their opponents in relatively bad fashion. The Indians fell to 4-4 and 0-4 in divisional play with a 47-27 loss to Marcellus last Friday. The Indians were tied 21 all at the half with the Wildcats, but a 19 point fourth quarter doomed any chances of an Indian victory. Lawrence fell to Lawton on their Homecoming by a 34-15 score. The Tigers led 15-14 at the half over the Blue Devils, but a second half scoring drought let Lawton rally to take the victory. Lawrence comes in 3-5 and 1-3 in the South Division.

COACHING MATCHUP
This will be the fourth meeting between the coaches and Hartford's coach has the 3-0 edge in the current series. Even though the Indians will miss the playoffs this year, coach Dave Janicki still has a chance to end the season above the .500 mark. He is 29-10 as the Hartford coach in his three-plus seasons as the leader of the tribe. On the other sideline is Aaron Amthor. Amthor is in his seventh season with the Tigers where he has a 20-43 mark, along with one playoff appearance.

WEATHER FORECAST FROM WOOD TV 8'S "BILL'S BLOG"
Straight from Storm Team 8's Chief Meteorologist Bill Steffen and Bill's Blog: This Friday is looking wet. After heavier showers late Thursday through early Friday, the rain should let up during the afternoon, before more heavier showers move in toward evening and last through the nighttime hours. The percentage of rain is around 90-100%, so it is a definite chance of rain. It will also be windy, with a breeze out of the East-Southeast at about 10-20 mph with gusts to 30. Temperatures will be around 50 at game time, but fall to around 40-42 degrees by 11 o'clock. It's fall in Hartford folks, but even though the rain chance is high, grab the umbrellas, grab the family, grab some good Hartford grub at the concession stand and cheer on the Indians one last time this season and it's a special final game for the seniors. JUNIOR VARSITY UPDATE
The Junior Varsity Indian Football team fell for a fifth time in a row last Thursday night to Marcellus by a 62-28 score. The Wildcats jumped out to a big 42-14 halftime lead and kept the game in high gear, scoring the most points all season against the JV Indian defense. The Indians, now 2-6 and 0-4 in the league, will conclude their 2009 season this Thursday night at Lawrence. Game time is set for 6:30 PM, so come on out one last time and support your future Indians on to a victory!

CONFERENCE UPDATE
The ninth and final week of the regular season in Southwestern Athletic Conference play features the final week of divisional play and titles will be awarded to winners of both divisions. In addition to the Hartford vs. Lawrence matchup, other games on the docket include, in the South: Decatur (5-3) looks to earn a playoff birth with a win over Marcellus (3-5), while Lawton and Watervliet (both at 7-1) hook up in the South Division title game. In the North, Bangor (4-4) hosts winless Martin (0-8), while Bloomingdale (1-7) plays host to Fennville (3-5) and Saugatuck (7-1) will clinch the North Division with a win or loss against Gobles (2-6).
