Thank you Larry and the Indians sure appreciate it, too. Like I said, we won in the fact we “controlled” the game for lengthy periods of time, hung in there and gave ourselves a chance to win. It was a great game in the trenches, just a few breaks didn’t go our way. And in H.S. Football, if you don’t get breaks, you don’t win.

I guess it’s time to support our SAC brethren in Watervliet and Lawton now. Although, one will be gone this week.

Good luck to the Cardinals in the future. Same to Bryce. –JB

Wanted to say congratulations to your Hartford Indians on a successful season. I have to admit, I thought Constantine would have their way on Saturday but the Indians held their own and made it a great game. Hartford can be proud of it’s team, Constantine has a strong history of post-season play and the Indians made a real game of it.

Just an observation. Bloomingdale (you know, my favorite team) lost pretty big to your #2 and #4 ranked teams, lost to #10 by 2 and lost to an honorable mention in OT and beat one honorable mention. We must be the best 4-5 team in the state!

I figured you were speaking in all practicality. Yes, after I saw the Saug./Gobles score from Friday night it gives even more credence to your thoughts. With Bloomingdale’s 35-12 loss to Gobles (although the game was close into the 4th quarter) and Saugatuck’s 56-6 whipping of Gobles last Friday, it would certainly be a miracle if B’dale should pull it out this Friday! Being a 1977 graduate of Bloomingdale and Bryce’s dad, I’m hoping for that miracle!

Larry,

Thank you for the great comment about my blog. I certainly appreciate our other SAC Schools getting involved and reading it. This is totally for the readers viewing pleasure and I always enjoy doing these blogs so that everyone can enjoy, examine and critique my thoughts.

I know, understandably, it still really is a three team race in the SAC North. I went with more of a “realistic” approach then a statistical approach. You are completely right, it is a three team race mathematically. I would love to see Bloomingdale get a big win like a Saugatuck, it would be a complete game changer. But in my view, after tonight, after seeing the 56-6 score Saugatuck put on Gobles, you can’t complain about my reasoning.

Again, I appreciate your comments and hope you will continue reading my Blog. You wouldn’t happen to be a relation to Bryce Bodtke, would you?

I have been enjoying your blog the last several weeks after stumbling on it through a google search. Although your comment that the winner of the Saugatuck/Gobles game will win the SAC North Division may be accurate from a practical standpoint, it is not correct mathamatically. If Saugatuck wins this week and Bloomingdale defeats Fennville as you have predicted and then Bloomingdale happens to upset Saugatuck in week 9, there would be a three way tie for first in the SAC North. Saugatuck, Gobles, and Bloomingdale would all end the season at 4-1 in the division.
